Principal
James Thomas is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. In his role, he leads Private Wealth Business Development across the Middle East for Blue Owl Capital, working across the firm’s Credit, Real Assets, and GP Strategic Capital platforms.
Before joining Blue Owl, James was Managing Director and Head of Intermediaries for the Middle East and Africa at State Street Investment Management, where he led the intermediary business and sales team across the region. He was responsible for developing relationships with private banks, wealth managers, family offices, insurers, and other financial intermediaries across the GCC and wider MEA region.
Before joining State Street, James was Head of Sales, EMEA, at ARK Invest, where he led the firm’s commercial development across Europe and the Middle East. He worked with institutional and wealth management clients to expand access to ARK’s ETF and private markets businesses.
He received a BA in Politics with Economics from Loughborough University.
